What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a trance-like mental state in which people experience increased attention, concentration and suggestibility. It can help people with behavior changes such as quitting smoking, losing weight and has been shown to have medical and therapeutic benefits; most notably in the reduction of pain, anxiety, insomnia and depression. Many clients experience having a more productive positive outlook and an easier ability to “shift into a more positive state of mind.”
Hypnosis is an altered state of mind and has been described as being in a “trance”, there are however, some misconceptions about hypnosis. Due to the media and false information, many people are afraid that being under hypnosis means your mind is being controlled. Know this – YOU are never out of control and you can bring yourself out of hypnosis at any time.
